Nothing wrong with discussion, but this thread has mostly been condescending driveby posts against OP, whenever some tries to discuss adding difficulty settings the tryhards start shreking in rage. Some souls fan argue that you might as well just watch the games on youtube rather than play a game devoid on any challenge at all, this is silly, it doesn't have to be all or nothing, there is a middleground to be found, and i think from software are more than capable of pulling that off. Difficulty settings are not rocket science, they have been around for a while, souls fans like pretend that balancing difficulty levels in souls would be an impossible task, which is kind of funny since the souls games have never been well balanced, cheap bullshit, absurd random difficulty spikes and hilariously op character/equipment builds that can completely break the game has always been a part of the series.Ī difficulty mode doesn't have to be complicated, adjusted player hp and enemy damage, more lenient parry windows/dodge i-frames, less aggressive enemies and no/reduced penalties for dying (going hollow, reduced hp, losing xp), that is pretty much all it takes to make adjustable difficulty levels.
